I've been building websites for a while now, and it's definitely easier today than it was a decade ago. But that doesn't mean it's easy. The hard part for me is transforming your ideas into a website that people like and want to buy from. And that's even before we start talking about making it look good and ensuring it's easy to navigate. These tasks still take a lot of creativity and hard work.
That's where I've found AI tools really helpful. They take care of the detailed stuff, freeing up your time to focus on the bigger picture. With AI, I'm more like a project leader, guiding the process and making sure everything fits my vision. Let me show you how these tools can make the process of designing a website easier, so you can focus on doing what you're best at.
From what I've seen, designing a website is not as simple as it might look. You need to have some level of understanding about the client's business, something that freelancers and agencies often find challenging. That's where AI tools have been a real help for me. In general, we can group builders into two groups, those who build websites for their clients, and those who build them for their own businesses. Here's how AI can help solve their problem.
What's great about AI is that it can take information about a client's business and turn it into useful insights. AI tools like Typedream AI and ChatGPT (to some extent) made it easier to understand a complicated product, get to know the target audience, and figure out what needs to be addressed on the website. Once I've got that sorted out, AI takes care of the rest, creating content structures, sitemaps, writing copy, and even creating visuals.
This AI stuff doesn't just make work more efficient, but it also makes a good impression on clients when they see early drafts in the first meetings. What does this mean? There's the opportunity to work with more clients and deliver better results.
When it comes to businesses, especially those with a lot of specialist knowledge, the challenge is often about communicating effectively with potential customers. What might seem obvious to you might be exactly what a customer wants to know. Here's where AI tools excel, turning complex product knowledge into engaging content for the website. They've helped me understand how my target audience thinks, what they ask, what they're likely to object to, and how best to present what I'm offering to turn visitors into customers.
In conclusion, whether you're a freelancer, part of an agency, or running a business like me, I'd say AI tools are not just nice to have; they're necessary in today's competitive market. They've made me more productive, improved the quality of my work, and ensured that my websites not only meet but exceed my own expectations.
I tried a bunch of AI tools, some are really helpful, and others are just great ideas that might work in the future. When building a website with AI, there are two things that you have to consider, first is how accurate the AI is and second is if it serves your needs.
When you're building a website for someone else, try to be more conservative with your choice of tool. You're building a site and you might not have as much control over the content and design direction as you would with your own project.
My advice is to mainly use AI as a way to translate what your customer wants. Tools like Typedream AI Web Builder can help you do just this, it can structure your site, sections and overall look to accommodate your client's needs. But don't stop just on the structure of the site and simple copywriting, you need to make sure the generated website can be customized both with prompt and traditional editor. I can't imagine having to start over after spending hours on an AI Web builder just because I can't customize the site to what my client wants.
AI can greatly help you build sites for your business, especially if it's small to medium-sized. Choose AI Web builder that can save you time doing stuff that you don't enjoy doing, or is just a really time-consuming task. Look for platforms that offer intuitive drag-and-drop interfaces, pre-designed templates, and a bit of customization options. These features can significantly reduce the time and effort required to build your site.
Apart from the actual site, you can also use AI tools to generate images and help you with copywriting. As a small business you can be a bit more flexible with the tone, design and overall look of the site. I always try to keep the big picture on track with what I want but let the AI tools handle the small things.
Writing content for websites can be a painful task, you overthink every sentence and end up wasting too much of your time. I had trouble balancing the perfect blend of engaging, informative, and yet SEO-friendly sites. That's where AI-powered copywriting tools have become my go-to. They've transformed the way I approach content creation, making it easier to produce high-quality, relevant content that resonates with the audience. A crucial point that is often overlooked is integration. Using AI to write is easy, but writing a web page is a lot different a blog

My top pick: Typedream AI. Typedream is the man (duh). Unlike other site builders that usually rely on a single prompt, Typedream allows you to give feedback to every part of the site. This approach ensures that the generated site is really what I wanted it to be.
Moreover, it's not just about texts, Typedream will also generates wireframes alongside the copy, giving me the option to continue designing in figma if I want to. Typedream AI make sure you can customize the generated site because all backed by a robust website builder, allowing me to tweak and customize the site to perfection. The built-in AI, integrated directly within the web builder, gives Typedream an edge by giving it with more context about what I'm building, hence my site will feel more cohesive across all pages.

Picture and videos are an important part of your website's experience. But not all of us have the budget for a professional photographer or designer on hand, I certainly don't. That's where AI-generated images come in, providing a cost-effective way to provide images.
My top pick: DALL-E. DALL-E is my to go choice when generating image for my websites. It allows me to generate images based on specific prompts, ensuring that the visuals are not only great, but also they are tailored to my overall content and brand identity. It's like having a personal designer who can bring my vision to life.

To wrap it up, I think no matter what your role is in web development, it's time to use AI. For someone like me, who's always juggling various aspects of building websites, AI has been very helpful. They're game changers that remove (some) headaches and bridge the gap between ideas and the real product. Keep in mind though, choosing the right AI tools and when to you use it are crucial.
